Our Pastor
BIO
Pastor D. A. Glasby
Pastor D. A. Glasby is a native Washingtonian, born to the late David and Dorothy Glasby and is the 16th of 18 children. After graduating from Spingam High School Stay Program, designed for would-be “drop-outs,” he attended the University of the District of Columbia, where he studied Sociology. Shortly after he began his studies, he embraced a lifestyle of parties, drugs, and alcohol. On a cold night in 1987, Pastor Glasby left a party suddenly to endure a long 20-mile walk home when God began to take the veil from his eyes and allowed him to see his divine call to the Ministry.
In 1988, Pastor Glasby joined Central Baptist Church. Though under outstanding leadership, the Spirit of God provoked him to move his membership to the New Home Baptist Church, where Minister Bobby D. Hicks serves as Pastor. There he sat patiently waiting on God to direct him in his next steps, and in 1990, he joined the choir to minister in what he deemed his greatest love, music. During his 19-year stay at New Home Baptist Church, he worked willingly throughout the ministry, holding several positions and receiving many awards and accolades for his anointed teaching abilities. Pastor Glasby served as an ordained Deacon from 1997 to 1999; preached his initial sermon on April 30, 1999, and was licensed as a Minister of the Gospel. On September 30, 2000, Pastor Glasby was officially ordained as a Preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In December of that same year, he was recognized for membership as a Clergymen in the Baptist Society.
In 2001, Pastor Glasby heard the voice of God speaking into his heart, saying that he should lead leaders, and at that time, he did not know what that meant. Again, in 2002 God spoke the same word and specifically called him Pastor. With that, fear crept in, and he remained silent concerning this matter for more than a year. However, in 2005 the Lord would not let him rest until he said “Yes.” In 2006, he followed the voice of God and obtained a license in the state of Virginia to bring into existence the Remnant Community Church where he serves as Pastor. Although Pastor Glasby is bi-vocational, his vocation in life is that of a servant of the Most High God.
Pastor Glasby is married to Tracy Glasby and together they share five amazing children.
